IZTECH invites internationally renowned experts in areas of science other than mathematics and physics to collaborate in research and training. As IZTECH, being one of the destinations with our center of excellence – Integrated Research Center (IRC)-, we would be more than happy to host internationally renowned scientists from anywhere in the world under the prestigious TWAS (The World Academy of Sciences) Visiting Expert Programme.

The programme supports visits (2-4 weeks) of internationally renowned scientists to establish long-term links in areas of natural sciences (including engineering) other than mathematics and physics, and help develop capacity-building in the country. TWAS will provide the Visiting Expert with the most direct economy class travel (round-trip) while the host institution (IZTECH) is expected to cover local expenses.

Due to the program’s conditions, as IZTECH, we can nominate only one scientist per calendar year. Therefore, we will select the most competitive candidate for the award nomination from the applicants. In instances where multiple candidates are deemed equally qualified, women candidates will be prioritized.

The visiting expert will be expected to interact closely with faculty and students of IZTECH with the aim of strengthening its existing activities and/or assisting in the establishment of new lines of research. The visiting expert could also deliver lectures and seminars to research students, supervise students, conduct research and discuss future collaborative partnerships.
