Call for Applications: Fall Semester Exchange Program at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania (USA)

Overview:

We are pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2026-2027 Academic Year Fall Semester Exchange Program at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania (SRU). This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain international academic experience, immerse themselves in a new culture, and enhance their personal and professional development at one of Pennsylvania’s premier public universities.

IZTECH has a partnership agreement with SRU that waives tuition, fee and on-campus room[1] costs for the covered academic semester (Fall 2026). So our outgoing exchange student will be responsible for their visa application fees, travel expenses and other personal expenses (such as meals, health insurance, books and stationery, clothing, entertainment, etc.).

Application and Selection Criteria

Candidates will be evaluated based on the following criteria to ensure academic readiness and program compatibility.

1.Eligibility Requirements

  • Academic Status: Must have completed at least one academic year at our institution (excluding preparatory school).
  • Grade Point Average (GPA): Minimum 2.50/4.00
  • Language Proficiency: By the host institution (SRU), the following English tests are accepted:
    • Applicants must score a minimum of 62 on the internet based TOEFL test (iBT), New TOEFL iBT minimum score 4.0 or higher, a minimum of 500 on the written test or a minimum of a 173 on the computer based test. The TOEFL institution code for Slippery Rock University is 2658;
    • Applicants must receive an overall IELTS score at band 6.0 or above, ELS Schools official score report with a 112 result or higher, or STEP Eiken 2A Grade.
    • Applicants may also submit Duolingo English Test, which combines an English proficiency test with a brief video interview. Duolingo’s technology and format allows applicants to complete the test any time or place, as long as they have internet access. Only scores of 95 and above will be accepted.

Required Documents for Application

  1. A copy of your passport of the picture page
  2. Official Transcript (in English): Signed and stamped copy.
  3. Language Proficiency Certificate: TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo English test (see above for details)
  4. Academic Plan (English): Highlighting academic priorities, research interests, and extracurricular activities including a list of intended courses for credit transfer approval.
  5. Motivation Letter (English): A statement explaining how studying at SRU for a semester aligns with your academic and career goals.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  1. Financial statement: Exchange students are required to verify sufficient funds for the issuance of the Form DS-2019 used to obtain the students visa for entry into the United States. Upon selection, the applicant will verify that they have sufficient funds. For the Fall semester, it is $3,061.00.

By 1 May 2026, selected student will submit sponsor information in the application form OR indicate that they intend to submit their own bank statement for financial verification. Once the application is submitted the sponsor(s) provided will receive an email with a link to the complete the SRU Financial Affidavit form. Applicant will upload the completed affidavit along with acceptable bank documents in the application portal. Sponsor should reference the total estimated cost for attendance to complete the Financial Affidavit form.

  1. Students participating in the semester exchange program are advised that the courses offered by the host institution may not fully align with their curriculum at IZTECH. Students are strongly advised to consult with their academic advisors and program chairs. Students must be aware that their graduation date may be delayed. IZTECH assumes no responsibility for any extension in the duration of the student’s academic program resulting from participation in the exchange program.
  2. All applications must be submitted via online application form by 26 April 2026, 23.59. Incomplete applications will not be processed. Please ensure all documents are prepared in the required format.

[1] Please note that if the selected student chooses to benefit from the free on-campus accommodation, which will be shared by one or two roommates, he/she must purchase a meal plan while living in the residence hall.
