Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes

Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes

Blended intensive programmes allow students, academic, and administrative staff of higher education institutions to participate in an educational programme (curriculum) and activities with physical and virtual components. Students who are unable to participate in long-term physical study or traineeship mobility due to their academic field of study or lack of opportunities for participation can participate in short-term physical mobility with a compulsory virtual component.

Subject of the Summer School

This comprehensive university program offers a specialized and unique learning experience through two distinct modules focused on the “Sustainable Development Goals.” Academic staff at our institute will participate in the engineering module (Module 2), which features a module titled “Hydrogen as a Clean Energy Carrier.”

Hydrogen is regarded as one of the most important energy carriers for a sustainable energy supply. In this module the following subjects will be discussed.

  • Characteristics of hydrogen, advantages and challenges in connection with hydrogen as an energy carrier.
  • What role can hydrogen play in a sustainable energy supply?
  • How can hydrogen contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?
  • Stationary and mobile applications for hydrogen.
  • What is the status quo of hydrogen use worldwide/in Europe/in Germany?

As part of these discussions, participants’ experiences and insights regarding hydrogen use in their own countries will be gathered. In addition, efforts will be made to identify key research and development topics related to hydrogen. During International Sustainability Week, a demonstration system showcasing hydrogen production and technical applications will be developed. The module contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals “Affordable and clean energy” (SDG 7) and “Climate Action” (SDG 13).
