2025-2026 Academic Year International Student Admission To Undergraduate Programs
General information about the applications for admission of international students to our Institute’s undergraduate programs for the 2025–2026 Academic Year is provided below.
- Applications will be made online through the application page during the application dates.
- The required documents must be uploaded to the system.
- Candidates will be able to make 3 program preferences during the application.

- Candidates who wish to study at IZTECH with a scholarship should visit the Türkiye Scholarships page https://www.turkiyeburslari.gov.tr/.
- The application page will be active during the application dates.
TR-YÖS (ÖSYM Türkiye Exam for Admission of International Students): Applications of candidates who have obtained at least 300 points from the TR-YÖS exam will be accepted. The validity period of the TR-YÖS exam is two (2) years retrospectively from the application deadline. Information about the TR-YÖS Exam can be accessed via the page https://tryos.osym.gov.tr/TryosYetki/Giris.
The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is the priority country for all undergraduate programs. According to IZTECH Undergraduate Programs International Student Admission and Education Directive Article 7, paragraph 1, subparagraph d of the regulation, candidates with TRNC nationality* can apply with the GCE AL exam. Applications of candidates who have an A* grade in the GCE AL Mathematics subject will be accepted. There is no time limitation regarding the validity of the GCE AL exam. (*Those who are TRNC nationals; who reside in TRNC and have completed their secondary education (high school) in TRNC and have GCE AL exam results, or those who have enrolled in and received education from colleges and high schools in other countries between the years 2005–2010 and have or will have GCE AL exam results, or TRNC nationals who have completed all of their secondary education (high school) in a foreign country and have TR-YÖS results.)

In place of the principal candidates who do not complete both the submission of the registration document and the payment of the tuition fee, substitute candidates who have gained the right to register will be announced for each program, equal to the number of vacant quotas.
An electronic acceptance letter will be sent to the application e-mail addresses of the principal candidates who have gained the right to register and the substitute candidates who have gained the right to register among the substitute candidates.
- The completeness of the application documents is the sole responsibility of the candidate. In case of missing documents, your application will not be evaluated.
- Candidates who are granted the right to register as a result of international student admission to our Institute are required to submit a document during registration showing that they have sufficient financial means equivalent to 80,000 TL (Turkish Lira) in USD to continue their education in our country.
- The tuition fee paid by candidates who renounce their right to register will not be refunded.
- Candidates who make false declarations or are found to have misled the administration in any way will not be registered. The tuition fees paid by these candidates will not be refunded.
- No substitute candidates will be determined during the additional application period.

Required Exam for Application and Validity Period:
- TR-YÖS (ÖSYM Türkiye Exam for Admission of International Students): Applications of candidates who have obtained at least 300 points from the TR-YÖS exam will be accepted. The validity period of the TR-YÖS exam is two (2) years retrospectively from the application deadline. When entering the exam score, write your score exactly as stated on the exam result document. Do not round it.
- TRNC is a priority country for all undergraduate programs. In accordance with Article 7, paragraph 1, clause d of the İzmir Institute of Technology Undergraduate Programs Admission of International Students and Education Directive, candidates with TRNC nationality* can apply with the GCE AL exam. Applications of candidates who have an A* grade in the GCE AL Mathematics subject will be accepted. There is no time limitation regarding the validity of the GCE AL exam.(*Those who are TRNC nationals; who reside in TRNC and have completed their secondary education (high school) in TRNC and have GCE AL exam results, or those who have enrolled in and received education from colleges and high schools in other countries between the years 2005–2010 and have or will have GCE AL exam results, or TRNC nationals who have completed all of their secondary education (high school) in a foreign country and have TR-YÖS results.)

If the candidate is outside of Turkey: a translation approved by the foreign representative offices of Turkey

Transcript (Document showing the entire high school education period)
Documents of those who were born as Turkish citizens and obtained permission from the Ministry of Interior to renounce Turkish citizenship, provided that they enrolled before the 2022–2023 academic year in secondary education (high school) institutions in Turkey. (Blue Card or the Detailed Population Registration Record obtained from the Directorate of Population Registry).
Candidates under this condition are required to upload the document.“Entry/Exit Document” covering the entire duration of secondary education for Turkish citizens or dual nationals, one of whose nationalities is Turkish, who were obligated to complete their secondary education in high schools abroad (excluding TRNC high schools) due to being abroad.
Candidates under this condition are required to upload the document.
Provided that they are in their final year of high school or have graduated;
Applications will be accepted from:
- Foreign nationals, (on the condition that those who have been educated in secondary education (high school) institutions in Turkey must have enrolled before the 2022-2023 academic year [excluding embassy schools, international private education institutions listed in the MOBIS system, and foreign nationals brought to our country within the scope of projects conducted by the Ministry of National Education])
- Those who were Turkish citizens by birth but lost their Turkish citizenship by obtaining permission to renounce citizenship from the Ministry of Interior, and those who document that they hold a Blue Card issued upon request to those who lost Turkish citizenship (on the condition that those who have been educated in secondary education (high school) institutions in Turkey must have enrolled before the 2022-2023 academic year) (Article 7 of Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901: “A child born in or outside Turkey to a Turkish citizen mother or father within a marriage union is a Turkish citizen.”)
- Those who acquired Turkish citizenship later while being foreign nationals / dual nationals in this situation (on the condition that those who have been educated in secondary education (high school) institutions in Turkey must have enrolled before the 2022-2023 academic year),
- Those who are Turkish nationals and completed their entire secondary education (high school) in a foreign country except TRNC (including those who completed their entire secondary education (high school) at Turkish schools opened under the Ministry of National Education in a foreign country other than TRNC),
- Those who are TRNC nationals and reside in TRNC and have completed their secondary education (high school) in TRNC and have GCE AL exam results, or those who enrolled and received education at colleges and high schools in other countries between 2005-2010 and have or will have GCE AL exam results, or TRNC nationals who have completed their entire secondary education (high school) in a foreign country and have TR-YÖS results.
- Those who are Turkish citizens and have completed their entire secondary education (high school) in Turkey or the TRNC,
- Those who are TRNC citizens (except those who have completed their entire secondary education [high school] in TRNC high schools and possess GCE AL results, those who registered and studied at colleges and high schools in other countries between 2005-2010 and have or will have GCE AL exam results, or those who are TRNC citizens and have completed their entire secondary education [high school] abroad and possess TR-YÖS results),
- Dual nationals whose first nationality by birth is Turkish within the scope of Article 7 of the Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901: “A child born within wedlock to a Turkish citizen mother or father inside or outside Turkey is a Turkish citizen,” (except those Turkish citizens who have completed their entire secondary education [high school] abroad excluding the TRNC, including those who completed their entire secondary education [high school] at Turkish schools established under the Ministry of National Education abroad outside TRNC),
- Dual nationals with one nationality being TRNC, (except those who have completed their entire secondary education [high school] in TRNC high schools and possess GCE AL results, those who registered and studied at colleges and high schools in other countries between 2005-2010 and have or will have GCE AL exam results, or those who are TRNC citizens and have completed their entire secondary education [high school] abroad and possess TR-YÖS results),
- Turkish citizens studying at schools under embassies in Turkey and at foreign high schools in Turkey, or dual nationals whose first nationality by birth is
- Turkish as defined in paragraph 1, clause b, TRNC citizens and those who have renounced Turkish citizenship / Blue Card holders and foreign nationals who will register in secondary education institutions in Turkey as of the 2022-2023 academic year (except foreign nationals brought to our country within the scope of projects conducted by the Ministry of National Education, international private education institutions registered in the MOBIS system, and embassy schools),
- Those who have been expelled from a higher education institution in Turkey,
Their applications will not be accepted.
Placement by the commission is carried out considering priority countries as follows.
- TR-YÖS scores are ranked from highest to lowest to create an evaluation list.
Placement starts with the candidate who has the highest score. The candidate is first tried to be placed in their 1st choice; if the quota of the preferred department is full, subsequent preferences are tried in order.
If the quotas for all 3 preferences of the candidate are full, the candidate cannot be placed. - In case of candidates having equal scores;
- First, the order of preference is considered.
- If the tie continues, priority is given to the candidate with the higher overall GPA (on a 100-point scale).
- If the tie still continues, priority is given to the younger candidate and placement is made accordingly.
- One quota in each program is reserved for a priority country.
- The number of foreign students accepted from the same nationality in a program cannot exceed 40% of the announced foreign student quota for that program. If the relevant program’s quota is not filled, candidates are placed without applying this rule.
- Placements regarding TRNC nationality candidates who meet the conditions in the İzmir Institute of Technology Undergraduate Programs Foreign Student Admission and Education Directive;
Will only be made if the candidate has an A* score in the Mathematics section of the GCE AL exam.
The candidate’s GCE AL scores in other subjects will not be considered.
In the placement process; the candidate is first tried to be placed in their 1st choice; if the quota of the preferred department is full, subsequent preferences are tried in order. If the quotas for all 3 preferences of the candidate are full, the candidate cannot be placed. For candidates who chose the same program, the order of preference is first considered. If the tie continues, priority is given to the candidate with the higher overall GPA (on a 100-point scale). If the tie still continues, priority is given to the younger candidate and placement is made accordingly.
Primary and substitute candidates are determined according to the quota among the candidates.
All courses at all faculties at IZTECH is 100% English.
Students have the chance to study English for a preparatory year at IZTECH.
SBS (English Proficiency Exam) of the School of Foreign Languages of IZTECH can be performed in single or multi-stage.
