IZTECH team attends the Erasmus+ transnational project meeting at Versailles, France

Within the scope of Erasmus+ Program the Cooperation partnerships in higher education (KA220-HED) project that is co-financed by the European Union; the Reimagining Erasmus Experience (REX) project partners gathered for their second transnational meeting at Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ), Paris on April 2–3, 2025.

 

A key moment of the meeting was the presentation by the İzmir Institute of Technology team—Prof. Dr. Erdem Erten, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kıvanç Kılınç, and Lecturer Dr. Bengü Aydın Dikmen—who shared findings from Work Package 2.

The presentation of the Izmir Institute of Technology team, Prof. Dr. Erdem Erten, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kıvanç Kılınç (joined via Teams) and Lecturer Dr. Bengü Aydın Dikmen, who shared the findings from the second work package of the project, constituted one of the most important parts of the meeting. Their comprehensive literature review provided essential insights into students’ evolving expectations, helping shape the direction of the project’s next phases.

 

The project consortium reviewed project progress and aligned on next steps, including upcoming surveys and focus groups to inform the Virtual Reality proof of concept and future policy recommendations.

The meeting ended with a cultural visit to the Palace of Versailles, located very close to the host university’s campus, adding a memorable touch to the collaborative event.

 

   

 

Launched on October 8, 2024, the REX project aims to support students in choosing mobility destinations by offering engaging, personalized information—especially through virtual reality tools. The project focuses on understanding students’ needs, values, and motivations to make international mobility more relevant and accessible.

The REX project is coordinated by the University of Maribor, with partners including Izmir Institute of Technology (Türkiye), University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (France), Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (Norway) and the European University Foundation.
