Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran, Institutional Erasmus Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Hatice Eser Okten and Erasmus Advisor Asena Altan participated in the 19th annual Erasmus Congress and Exhibition –ERACON 2023 held at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, Italy. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran made a presentation titled “Science Diplomacy and Internationalization: A Case Study from Izmir Institute of Technology” and detailed the success story of our Institute.

The International Office attended several workshops and sessions, covering multiple themes some of which are; Erasmus+ Mobility Barometer, International Credit Mobility, Inclusive Internationalization, Erasmus Without Paper (EWP), and Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs). The Congress was a good opportunity to exchange knowledge and specific know-how with Erasmus Coordinators, Placement and Internship Managers, Researchers, and Professionals from all around the world. Social networking was established in U2U-University to University Meetings which was expected to enable signing new Erasmus Inter-Institutional Agreements for student and staff mobility.
